How To Adopt

Adopting from the RSPCA is one of the best and most responsible ways to bring an animal into your home.

A cat has a lot of love to offer and is a very rewarding companion, and we want to ensure that all of our wonderful cats find loving new homes. To make sure that happens, we have a simple procedure in place, which we make adopting as quick and easy as it can be, just to be sure we are acting in the best interests of our cats.

If you would like to adopt a cat from Sussex East and Hastings Branch these are the following easy 6-step procedures:

  1. Visit the Cattery during our opening hours to meet the cats that are available for re homing.

  2. Choose a suitable cat with the help of our trained staff. (Where possible we ask all family members to meet your chosen cat/kitten).

  3. Fill in an adoption form.

  4. A home visitor will contact you within 2-3 days to arrange a home visit.

  5. If the home visit is successful. We will ask you to phone the centre and an appointment will be made for you to collect your cat. A final health check will be carried out before your cat leaves the centre.

  6. When collecting your cat, all adoption paperwork will be completed. Please bring ID with you.

Ginger Tabby domestic short haired male. 7 and a half years old.Hardy is a friendly vocal boy that has a lot of affection to offer. He is an independent cat however he also loves attention. He would prefer to be the only cat in the household and could possibly live with a calm dog pending further testing. He would suit an older family where he could settle and be himself.Provisional Reserve.
Black DLH male, 10 years old approx.Ed is a dear soul with a very gentle nature. He loves a fuss in the safety of his pod. He is looking for a quiet home with a nurturing owner, where he can settle at his own pace. He can be a bit timid in new surroundings or situations, but he has gained in confidence since his arrival. He could possibly settle with another calm cat, subject to further testing. He came to us with a nasty abscess on his face which he is recovering well from and has been a trooper through his treatment. He really deserves a loving home after all he's been through.
Ginger and white DLH male, 5-6 years old.Shadow is a magnificent looking fellow with his lion haircut. He is affectionate on his terms and enjoys human company. He needs an older family setup as he can get a bit worked up at times and needs his space. He is looking for a second chance at a happily ever after since he found himself on the streets as a stray.
Black and white male, 6 years old approx. Captain is a dear lad who has come on leaps and bounds since arriving here with us. He now loves a fuss and is very affectionate. When he first came in he was very nervous and would shy away from us. He may still take a little longer to get his bearings in his new home but it will be very rewarding to see him blossom, and he will become a loyal companion. Are you the special someone who can give our treasure the loving home he's been longing for?
