Cat Walk Raises £321.90

Local animal lovers took part in a charity walk along Hastings and St Leonards seafront and helped raise £321.90 for Bluebell Ridge on Monday (29 August).

The 4-mile coastal walk started at Winkle Island in the Old Town and continued along Hastings and St. Leonards seafront. At the end of the stretch walkers were rewarded with refreshments which were kindly provided by The White Rock Hotel.

Many walkers wore cat ears, face paint and even catonesies.

Nikki Hawes, Income Generation & Marketing Officer for Bluebell Ridge said: It was a really enjoyable afternoon and for our first ever charity walk it was a great success. I would like to thank everyone who came along to support the event and also a big thank you to the White Rock Hotel for their incredible generosity.

After such a successful walk and fantastic feedback, the centre is planning on making The Cat Walk an annual event.

All of the profits from the walk will go towards helping the cats and dogs in the branches care.

Tortie Female, 11 years old approx. Tabitha is a lady who will shout to get your attention. She's a little set in her ways with an independent side. She's looking for a new home to retire, that's quiet with lots of places to curl up for a nap! She would need to be the only cat of the household.
Black and white DLH male, 6 years old.Starsky is a very fluffy handsome boy and is extremely shy, so he often hides away. With the right person/people who are willing to take it at Starsky's pace, we think he will eventually settle and become a very happy addition to the household. A worthwhile project for someone who has the time and patience.
Torbie and white DLH female, 3 years approx.Saffron is a very pretty girl who is a hidden treasure. Don't be put off by her greeting hiss, it's all front and she really enjoys a gentle fuss. She has found herself here after her owner sadly passed away. It's taken her time to adjust to such a change, but she trusts us now and loves company. She's looking for a quiet home where she can be given time to settle at her pace. She will be a loving companion in the right household.
Black and white DSH male, 2 years old.Eddie is such a dapper looking gent, with striking green eyes. Sadly he isn't very trusting of people, so he will need a lot of time and patience to win him over but it will be worth it! He would suit a quiet household where he can relax and feel safe. He would need to be the only cat of the household.
