Buy a Cocktail that will have you Purring!

October is National Black Cat Month and Walkers Cocktail Bar will be selling Black Cat Cocktails to help raise awareness and funds for Bluebell Ridge Cat Rehoming Centre.

This month is about raising awareness of the beautiful black cats in animal shelters that have to wait longer to be adopted due to the colour of their fur. There are many superstitions associated with black cats which stops some people from adopting them.

The Black Cat cocktail, which contains vodka, cherry brandy, cranberry juice and coke, will be available to buy at Walkers Cocktail Bar in Robertson Street, Hastings from Saturday 1st October until Monday 31st.

Walkers will also be donating £1 from each cocktail sale to the Bluebell Ridge Centre.

Nikki Hawes, Income Generation & Marketing Officer for Bluebell Ridge said: There are many times when our black cats have been overlooked purely because of their colour. All cats deserve the chance of a better life and we are really grateful to Walkers for supporting our work. The cocktail is a really interesting combination which creates a delicious berry flavour - it will definitely have you purring.

Walkers is open Monday to Saturday from 11am until late and Sundays from 12pm until 10pm.

Ginger DSH, male, 14 years old approx.Ivan is a dear and sensitive gentleman who was a stray before he came to us and looked like he had to fend for himself for some time. He would like nothing more than a cosy home to call his own, and a safe spot to snuggle down. Ivan is very shy and requires a patient owner who he could learn to trust and gain confidence. Once he is comfortable, he will really enjoy a fuss and loves being brushed. He would like a quiet home with an older family and could possibly be an indoor cat in a spacious environment.Ivan is currently in a foster home. Please ask for details.
Bengal female, 10 years old.Phoebe is a very sociable and friendly girl who loves to chat and enjoys the attention. She would suit a household where she can interact and be part of a family possibly with older children. We are looking for a home for Phoebe that has a fair bit of outside space and she would need to be the only cat of the household.
Tabby DSH females, 10 and 9 years old.Sugar and Princess are two lovely ladies who are sweet natured and gentle. They are affectionate and loving once they settle. They would suit a quiet home where they can adjust in their own time, as they can be timid in new surroundings. Sugar and Princess are devoted to each other and seek reassurance from their company.
