Black Cats in Need of a Home

October is National Black Cat Month and we are celebrating our beautiful black moggies: Binks, Lucy, Monty, Mowgli and Owlbert.

This month is about raising awareness of these stunning and glossy creatures, however there are many unwanted black cats which have to wait longer to be adopted due to the colour of their fur.

There are many superstitions associated with black cats which stops some people from adopting them.

Binks is only 2 years old and she is shy girl who is adjusting to cattery life. She would suit a quiet home environment where she can blossom into the friendly, affectionate cat she can be.

Lucy is 8 years old and is a lovely, chatty girl who is up and about especially at meal times, though she does enjoy the comfort of her bed. Lucy can be a bit of a madam at times - particularly with other cats, but given time she will be a lovely loyal companion.

Monty is only 2 years old and is a very handsome chap who is gentle and a little timid. Given your time he will be a very affectionate cat and loves to chat to you. He is finding it hard settling into cattery life, and needs that forever home to call his own. A quiet family household would best suit this lovely boy.

Mowgli is 5 years old and is a lovable cat. He is a friendly boy with a playful attitude. He has quite a full on and cheeky personality and he would suit a family home with lots of interaction to give him.

Owlbert is 5 years old and is a lovely lad with as much love to give as his legs are long. He is a very mellow boy who seeks affection, food and many cuddles. Owlbert is timid around other cats so may suit a home with a cat of a similar personality. He would also suit living in a calm family home. As long as there is somewhere soft to rest his whiskers he would make a great best friend.

Black and white DSH female, 12 years old. Shadow is a little sweetie who has really grown in confidence since her arrival at the cattery. She loves a fuss and snuggles up on your lap for a snooze. She is looking for a fairly quiet home as she can still be a little wary of sudden noise and movement. She will be a very loveable companion. She could possibly settle with another cat with a similar nature. She's looking for someone, or a family to love since her owner had to leave their propert and sadly were unable to take Shadow with them.
Tortie female, 3 years old.Amber is a beautiful girl in looks and character. She loves a fuss and can be very sociable and affectionate. Occasionally she will prefer a little space to herself, but she'll soon come back for more attention. Amber would like a home without other cats as she is not keen on her fellow felines. She has recovered well from her pelvic injury and looks and feels a million dollars in comparison to when she arrived here. She is our brave little soldier. She is now very keen to get into a new loving home.
Tortie Female, 11 years old approx. Tabitha is a very loving girl with lots of love to give. She likes to sit on your lap and enjoys human company and loves to be groomed. She often meows to greet you and invites you to give her a fuss. Although she is a creature of habit and likes her routine, she is looking forward to finding a new home after having to say goodbye to her owner, who sadly passed away. She could possibly be an indoor cat, depending on the size of the space available, please come and visit her and have a chat with a team member.
