Conor Raises £82 for Bluebell Ridge

We would like to say a big thank you to 11-year-old Conor Mcmanus who has raised £82 for Bluebell Ridge.

As part of his studies at Guestling Bradshaw Primary School, Conor was asked to raise money for a charity of his choice. He chose Bluebell Ridge because last year Conor and his younger brother Liam adopted two kittens called Custard and Trifle from the centre. The cats are now a big part of the family and Conor felt that he wanted to help other cats that needed a loving home.

The 11-year-old decided to do a sponsored run around his football team home ground and ran a total of 3.5 miles in 22 minutes!

His family said that they are very proud of him as he organised everything all by himself.

Myra Grove, Centre Manager of Bluebell Ridge, said "We are extremely grateful to Conor for raising this money and wanting to help other cats in need. It was amazing for him to take on such a challenge and organise everything by himself. Bluebell Ridge is entirely self-financed so we rely on the support of lovely people like Conor to help us continue our vital work".

If you would like to help raise money for Bluebell Ridge, please email bluebellridge@outlook.com or you can visit our Get Involved page for some fundraising ideas.

Tabby DSH, female, 1 year approx.Henrietta has come on such a long way with her confidence since she arrived at the cattery. With lots of TLC and trust building, she's gone from a scared little cat, too afraid to allow contact, to popping out of her pod to sit on your lap for a fuss (and a few cheeky treats). She's also started to explore the cattery a little, but comes back to us for a bit of rub round for reassurance. She's an amazing little character who, with a nurturing and committed owner or older family, will blossom and grow in confidence all the more. She's such a gentle cat, and with not a bad bone in her body, she's looking for someone to give her a second chance.
Ginger DSH, male, 14 years old approx.Ivan is a dear and sensitive gentleman who was a stray before he came to us and looked like he had to fend for himself for some time. He would like nothing more than a cosy home to call his own, and a safe spot to snuggle down. Ivan is very shy and requires a patient owner who he could learn to trust and gain confidence. Once he is comfortable, he will really enjoy a fuss and loves being brushed. He would like a quiet home with an older family and could possibly be an indoor cat in a spacious environment. His adoption fee will be reduced as we'd rather Ivan spent his senior years in a comfortable loving home.Ivan is currently in a foster home. Please ask for details.
Ginger and white DLH, female, 11 years old approx.Tess is a beautiful girl with a personality to match. She is looking for a fresh start in life with someone who can shower her with love, as she so deserves. She is very loveable and enjoys snuggling up on your lap for a snooze. She would be a perfect companion for someone looking for a homely cat. Her confidence has come on leaps and bounds since she came to us. When she first arrived, she was in shock initially and was very scared of the other cats around her. Although still not keen on her feline neighbours, she's realised she's safe and this has allowed her loving nature to shine through. She would therefore really benefit from a home as only pet and without young children where she can kick back and relax. Whoever adopts this gorgeous girl will be very lucky and well rewarded.
