Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Coronavirus latest updates.

Closure of our centre to the public

Following the UK Government announcement, we are closed to the public until further notice. However, our telephone line, 01424 752121, remains open from 11am - 3pm every day, except Thursdays.

Adoptions

Defra has given approval for the RSPCA to rehome and foster animals in England again. We have introduced new temporary processes and checks to ensure that the animal and adopter are well matched and protected. Cats will be safely delivered to their new homes in a secure way. For more information, please call Bluebell Ridge on 01424 752121. Our phone lines are in operation between 11am - 3pm everyday, except Thursdays.

Please do not visit us in person - this is a new remote process that involves our key workers bringing the animals to you!

Taking in animals

At this time, we cannot accept animals from the public. We are still looking after existing animals in our care, and new animals brought in via our animal rescue teams who are working on emergency cases only in these testing times.

Injured stray animals

If you have a badly injured stray animal, please call your local vet for advice. Please do not attend a vet practice without calling first.

Caring for your pet

While there is no evidence to suggest that pets can be carriers of Coronavirus or can become ill from it themselves, your pets may be impacted if you or any members of your family test positive for the virus or are asked to stay at home and self-isolate.

Find out more from the RSPCA about How to care for your pets if you're ill or have to self-isolate due to Coronavirus

Let people know who your emergency pet carer is

In case you need to go to hospital, use the RSPCA's Emergency Pet Carer Form and display at your home so people know who to contact.

Tortie & White 8 years old Domestic Long HairedMaple is a beautiful cat in need of a nurturing and understanding friend. She will need an experienced cat person who will give her the time and space to settle in her own time. We know she has an affectionate gentle nature just waiting to shine through. A careful approach to her introduction to her new home will give her the building blocks she needs to then work on gaining trust in having fusses. She will need a small quiet settling room to make her own before venturing into more of her new home. Maple will be a lovely little project cat for someone, and gaining her trust and affection will be all the more rewarding. She will eventually be able to become a more confident cat. Currently with a Foster Carer.
Black DSH female, 7 1/2 years old.Sasha is a beauty with a sensitive nature. Although she finds new situations a bit daunting, she soon settles down to become a loving and affectionate little lady. She is full of character and can sometimes let what's on her mind show. Once settled in a home, she will feel more in control of her day to day life and be much happier. She is looking for a fresh start with a nurturing owner or older family, who can give her the space she needs to settle and get to know the household routine. In return, she will be a faithful friend and a joy to have in your home. She loves to play and is very entertaining chasing and leaping about after her favourite orange worm on a string.
